Behind the Scenes in Indy Tour
The following locations would love to show you how and what they do and why:
  • Chateau Thomas Winery ... Tastings, group tours and entertainment take place year round.
    Cost: Tasting packages, $3-$15
    Time: 1 ½ hrs

  • Tour Conseco Fieldhouse ... Generally acknowledged as the finest basketball venue in the country, this retro-style fieldhouse combines yesterday’s nostalgia with today’s most modern amenities.
    Cost: $4.50, adults; $3.50, children, 5-18; School Groups: $4, adults; $2.50, children 5-18
    Time: 45 minutes – 1 hour

  • Crossroads Greenhouse and South Side Landfill … Tour this environmentally safe solid waste disposal facility and learn how the process produces methane gas that heats and fuels their facility and helps to operate the greenhouse(the size of a football field) that produces poinsettia’s for commercial use.
    Cost: Free, limited to 60 people

  • Crown Hill CemeteryVisit the gravesites of Presidents (Benjamin Harrison), poets (James Whitcomb Riley) and playwrights (Booth Tarkington). Oh, and the notorious John Dillinger is laid to rest here, too.
    Cost: $100/$125/$150/per motorcoach (flat rate applies unless the per person rate is less expensive)

  • Tour, dinner and wine tasting at Easley WineryFrom "grape to glass," Easley’s guides the winemaking process, and then you get to taste the fruit of their labor.

  • Indiana Medical History Museum ... An authentic, intact 1896 pathology laboratory.
    Cost: $5, adults; $1, children

  • Indiana Repertory Theatre … Home of one of the leading regional theatres in the country, located in the restored 1927 "Indiana Theatre."
    Cost: $1/person
    Time: 15 minutes minimum (longer tours can be scheduled according to availability of staff and facility)

  • Indiana Statehouse Tour … Tour this building of outstanding architectural beauty, that has served as a center of civic life in Indiana since 1888.
    Cost: Free
    Time: 15 minutes up to 90 minutes (depending on group interest and guide availability)

  • Indiana World Skating AcademyThis facility is one of the finest in the world for the training and development of ice sports for both amateur and professional athletes in figure skating, hockey and speed skating.

  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame "Grounds Tour"No visit to Indianapolis is complete without a tour of the world’s finest racing facility and its Hall of Fame Museum, where the history of motorsports and automobiles is on display.
    Cost: $25, adults; $10, children; free, children 5 and under

  • The Sanctuary, The Art of N.A. Noel ... A restored church turned into a gallery of Noel’s "angels," the Sanctuary also includes a quaint café.

  • NCAA Hall of ChampionsTributes to the great athletes, coaches and teams and experiences in intercollegiate athletics.

  • Trader’s Point CreameryOnly minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city, step into the world of organic farming and award-winning dairy products.
    Cost: $3/person
    Time: 45 minutes – 1 hour

  • Victory FieldRecognized as the finest minor league ballpark in America.
    Cost for games: $13, box Seats; $9, reserved or lawn; $2 discount for groups of 25 or more. For ground tours: available on non-game day Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tours are by appointment only and typically begin at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. and last one hour. $2/person. Availability is limited, call in advance to book.
